Before you book a TV antenna installation.
A short checklist to help you describe the job and compare written quotes. No fixed channel count, reception result or installation price is promised before a property-specific assessment.
1. Describe what you need
2. Ask what the quote covers
- Antenna selection and proposed mounting location.
- Mounting hardware, cabling and any necessary property repairs or restoration.
- Number of TVs, splitter/distribution work and whether an amplifier is actually needed.
- Signal testing, channel scans and how reception will be checked on connected TVs.
- Roof/access costs, exclusions, total price and any stated warranty or follow-up terms.
These are questions to ask, not a claim that every item is included in a particular contractor's price.
3. Know the reception limits
An antenna receives available local over-the-air broadcasts. It does not replace every cable network, streaming service or sports package. Placement, terrain, buildings, trees, cable condition and signal distribution can affect reception.
Missing FOX8 when other stations work? WJW's published OTA guide explains VHF reception, antenna suitability, interference and amplifier overload. Its guide identifies its transmitter in Parma. This is station guidance, not a guarantee of reception at your property.
