LED Video Walls & Signage
A Brand New Display Concept
What Is an LED Video Wall?
An LED video wall is a large-scale display made up of many individual LED panels (also called “tiles”) that work together as one seamless screen. These are NOT your average TV screens—LED walls are built to be bold, bright, and scalable to any size you need, from a few feet to full stadium-size displays.
They can be mounted on walls, freestanding, curved, hung from ceilings—you name it. The flexibility is unmatched.

Nits: How Bright Is Bright Enough?
“Nits” are the unit of measurement for brightness. The higher the number of nits, the brighter the screen.
-
Indoor LED Walls typically range from 800 to 3000 nits.
-
Outdoor LED Walls go from 3,000 up to 8,000+ nits for sunlight visibility.
Why It Matters: If your screen isn't bright enough for the environment, the content will look washed out and hard to see.
Indoor vs Outdoor LED Walls: What’s the Difference?
Choosing the right type depends on where and how you plan to use your LED video wall.
Indoor LED Walls
-
Designed for controlled lighting conditions
-
Sleeker, higher-resolution panels
-
Lower brightness required
-
Lightweight for easier mounting and maintenance
Use Cases: Retail, corporate events, churches, showrooms, lobbies
Outdoor LED Walls
-
Weatherproof and rugged
-
Ultra-bright to fight sunlight glare
-
Often built with larger pixel pitch
-
Requires strong structural support
Use Cases: Digital billboards, outdoor concerts, sports arenas, building signage
Understanding “P” Numbers: What Does P1.5, P2.5, P3, etc., Mean?
The “P” stands for pixel pitch, and it’s one of the most important things to know when shopping for an LED video wall.
-
Pixel Pitch (P Number) is the distance in millimeters between the center of one pixel to the center of the next.
-
A smaller P number = higher resolution and better image quality up close.
-
A larger P number = more cost-effective for bigger, distant viewing setups.
Here’s a Quick Guide:
Pixel Pitch | Best For | Viewing Distance |
---|---|---|
P1.5 - P2.5 | Close-up indoor use (e.g. corporate lobbies, studios) | 4–10 feet |
P3 - P4 | Retail displays, indoor signage | 10–20 feet |
P5 - P10 | Larger venues, stages, churches | 20–50+ feet |
P10+ | Outdoor billboards, arenas | 50+ feet |
Pro Tip: For indoor environments, go lower. For big outdoor displays, go higher.
